- ➤ Sheridan man and former SHS assistant principal Jacob Meyer was sentenced to 3 to 5 years in prison after a jury convicted him of sexual assault in the second degree for an incident on April 19, 2024, and Fourth Judicial District Court ordered him to pay $275 in court costs (Meyer will receive credit for time served). - ➤ Data from February 2025 show that women in Wyoming earn only 65 cents for every dollar men earn and must work extra months to match their income. Local experts say low wages in female-dominated fields and deep-rooted cultural views have led many to start businesses to secure better pay — a change they believe is needed to close the gap. - ➤ Wyoming consumer advocates warn that Rocky Mountain Power customers may face more rate hikes as the Public Service Commission debates a 10.2% increase by March 28—if approved, it will go into effect on June 1.
