- ➤ Sheridan Media reviewed the most clicked stories of 2025 on Dec. 30 and noted that the Wyoming Game and Fish Department alert on big game applications drew strong local interest + highlighted hunting’s cultural and economic role in the community. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Sheridan Media revealed that visitor clicks (on sheridanmedia.com) defined 2025’s top local stories, which covered events from rescues to site safety updates that resonated with community interest. Kevin Koile said the click counts will guide future community coverage. Sheridan Media
- ➤ YMCA officials have voted to sell Camp Roberts property as rising insurance premiums have made full-day camps unsustainable. The camp program will continue (expanding outdoor adventures and full-day sessions) to serve more children in Sheridan. Sheridan Media

- ➤ On Tuesday, Dec. 23, the Chamber welcomed new member Balanced Bookkeeping with a ribbon cutting. The business offers balanced, accurate bookkeeping for small companies and is led by owner Caroline Nutt. City of Sheridan
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Museum at the Bighorns will host its first Family Day on Jan. 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 171 North Main Street, featuring a free activity table with animal facts and dig boxes (by local partners). City of Sheridan
- ➤ In 2025, historic events lit up the area: on May 17, Gov. Gordon cut ribbons at the new Fort Phil Kearny Interpretive Center; on September 21, a tour of LX Bar Ranch celebrated heritage; and on December 21, ten youth riders retraced battle routes and joined a potluck. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Following a three-hour listening session on Dec. 17 and a board meeting on Dec. 21, the Sheridan County School District 3 Board will decide on Clearmont K-12 School's house system at January meetings. The Sheridan Press
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan Community Land Trust announced on Dec. 9 that nearly 544 acres near Soldier Ridge Trail System have been permanently conserved as the new Ridgetop and Gillispie Draw Natural Areas, balancing conservation with limited housing. Officials said the land will support open space and community recreation for years. Sheridan Media
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Mark Gordon announced the Cowboy State Agricultural Initiative on Oct. 11 halftime at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie. He has named a 13-member group to help future agriculture, while in Sheridan, Fire Marshall George Neeson announced a partnership between Fire-Rescue and Community Connect to improve emergency response. - ➤ Sheridan updates its property tax exemptions as the assessor’s office requires homeowners to verify their primary residence—exemptions that were automatic last year. Applications opened on Oct. 1, with a Feb. 2 deadline for the 25% exemption and May 26 for additional exemptions. Sheridan Media
- ➤ During fiscal year 2025, the VA program in Sheridan housed 30 homeless veterans who received needed support & care. Officials say the program helps veterans secure stable living. Casper Star-Tribune

- ➤ Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter advised pet owners to use insulated, weatherproof shelters (straw repels moisture) for outside animals and to provide heated water, extra food, and daily checks for frostbite until milder weather returns. City of Sheridan
