COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Sheridan Community Land Trust announced that the off-leash dog trail at Big Goose Natural Area is now permanent after several months of responsible community use, and residents are reminded that only marked trails are off-leash.  Sheridan Media
  • On Thursday, Dec. 18, the Sheridan Community Foundation awarded more than $157,000 to 28 local nonprofits in Sheridan via Agency Partner Accounts & Community Fund Grants to support a range of community needs. Board member Wendy Smith said the grants strengthen local projects through donor contributions.  Sheridan Media
  • Compass Center for Families (serving Sheridan and Johnson counties) announced that its executive director Tifany Resser was named as one of Wyoming's Forty Under 40 by the Wyoming Chamber of Commerce (honoring emerging local leaders).  Sheridan Media

  • The Chamber welcomed new member Olha’s Market with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 1841 S. Sheridan Ave; the family-owned bakery and bistro now serves breakfast, lunch + dinner.  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local musicians plan the 26th annual Merry Tuba Christmas featuring tubas, baritones, and euphoniums on Saturday, Dec. 20 at Ignite Wesleyan Church. Rehearsal is set for 9:30 a.m. with the show beginning at 1:30 p.m.- the event highlights the instrument’s role during the holiday season.  Sheridan Media

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Hands-Off Drugs program at Sheridan Junior High celebrated its 25th year on Wednesday, Dec. 17 — students painted their handprints to pledge to remain alcohol and drug free while local police, firefighters, and sheriff’s office personnel supported the event.  Sheridan Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Sheridan Broncs host their home season opener today against the Natrona County Fillies at their local arena, and senior guard Breck Reed leads the charge as fans get ready to back the team on the court.  Sheridan Media
  • The Sheridan Broncs boys' basketball team won its home opener 67 — 39 over the Natrona County Fillies on Dec. 18, 2025. Junior forward Riley Friday led the team with two dunks in the first half, and photographer Clint Wood captured the action.  Sheridan Media
  • The Sheridan Lady Broncs defeated Natrona County 56-38 in their home season opener on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025. Coach Chris Wagner debuted + junior Mesa Hanft sustained an ankle injury after scoring the final points as the game stayed in the Broncs’ favor.  Sheridan Media
