COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Everyone Gives, Everyone Gains Holiday 2025 list offers Sheridan residents new ways to give back during the season. The list provides various options to support local causes and boost community spirit.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • The Wyoming Women’s Foundation announced that beginning October 2026 its flagship antelope hunt will be held at the historic TA Ranch south of Buffalo. The event will keep its traditions with the same outfitters, guides and landowners while hunter applications, scholarships and sponsorships open online in January.  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Sunday, Dec. 21, historian Sonny Reisch will speak at Kearney Community Hall about the Fetterman Fight — Lakota historian Donovin Sprague will later share his view at the battlefield, and youth riders will lead a horse ride through downtown before concluding with a community potluck.  Sheridan Media

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sheridan College is easing financial barriers for local students through its new tuition waiver program under the Bighorn Mountain Advantage approach. The college sees increased enrollment as more students take advantage of this affordable education option.  The Sheridan Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gillette airport ended its capacity purchase agreement, triggering hopes for expansion at Sheridan County Airport. Officials expect Gillette’s air service to change in 2026 (potentially boosting domestic flights) as they plan for future growth.  The Sheridan Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sheridan VA Medical Center has opened the VA Express Clinic to provide veterans with care for physical and mental health issues similar to military sick call. Developed by Dr Daniel Bainbridge and his team, the clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Building 71N.  Sheridan Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • The 2026 Special Olympics Jackalope Jump will take place in Sheridan on March 14 — residents can sign up now and fundraise to aid Wyoming Special Olympics athletes in accessing training and competition opportunities.  Wyoming News Now
  • Tucker Bass, a 12-year-old angler from Shoshoni, set a new junior world record when he landed a 2 lb, 4 oz largemouth bass from Lake Cameahwait — locally known as Bass Lake — on Aug. 9; his catch was confirmed by the International Game Fish Association in November.  Sheridan Media
