- ➤ Sheridan Area Search and Rescue announced its 2025 awards today, naming Bob Steinbauer as Rookie of the Year and Andy Earp & Heath Steel as Operational Members of the Year for their exceptional service to local search-and-rescue efforts. The honors, voted on by team members, underscore vital community support. Sheridan Media
- ➤ A wreath laying ceremony hosted by Honoring 307 Heroes will occur at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery to honor military veterans. Nearly 4,500 people are expected to attend as the community pays tribute to its heroes. Casper Star-Tribune
- ➤ MDU reported a power outage on Thursday morning that affected the Big Horn and Red Grade areas, causing some Sheridan Media stations to go off air, while KROE on AM 930 + KWYO on AM 1410 and others continued broadcasting normally. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Sheridan’s Civic Theater Guild is hosting auditions for Steel Magnolias on Dec. 16 and 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center above Brundage Street exit (no material required), with rehearsals to follow and March performances planned. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Tickets for Christmas with the Kendrick’s event are now available as visitors tour the Kendrick Mansion and watch local volunteers perform a room-by-room holiday play. Tickets cost $15 and must be purchased in advance online or by phone. Sheridan Media

- ➤ University of Wyoming said it needed $3 million extra per year at a recent Capitol meeting because rising NIL deal costs and lost revenues strain its Division I athletics budget. Without the funding, the department may cut sports, scholarships + staff to balance its $53 million budget. Cowboy State Daily
- ➤ The Bureau of Land Management will hold an oil and gas lease sale on Dec. 30 in Wyoming to meet federal requirements under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Wyoming Tribune Eagle
- ➤ State officials proposed a plan to invest $1 billion in insurance aid, hospital restructuring & service improvements, with healthcare expert Dr. Joseph Gutman drawing on 50 years of experience to highlight changes that could affect hospitals statewide. - ➤ Brody Cress of Hillsdale rode legendary saddle bronc Virgil to a second-place finish Monday at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, earning 89.5 points and a $29,000 purse. The ride added another memorable chapter to the storied career of the retiring horse. Cowboy State Daily
