  • Teresa Detimore and Jodi Hartley of the Chamber thanked businesses + sponsors + volunteers and attendees on Public Pulse for a successful 30th Christmas Stroll featuring 127 stores with about 650 children at the Performing Arts Center; shoppers can win prizes by matching button numbers before Christmas Eve.  Sheridan Media

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The DSA Shop Small Shopping Spree, held from Nov. 1 to 30, drew a record 2,499 shoppers who spent over $172,000 in downtown stores, with 68% of each dollar staying in the community (DSA said local businesses donate 250% more to nonprofits than big box shops).  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • Arvada-Clearmont School’s music department is hosting its annual Christmas music concert on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. The free event will feature 7-12th grade students with Santa handing out treat bags (prepared by the Clearmont Woman’s Club).  Sheridan Media
  • AARP Wyoming and Movies for Grownups will host a free screening of the movie Wicked: For Good on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Centennial Theaters (36 E. Alger St.).  The Sheridan Press

ECONOMY NEWS

  • GasBuddy.com’s survey of 494 stations shows Wyoming gasoline prices dropped 8.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.63 per gallon Monday — the drop may ease costs for drivers.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Western Wyoming Community College will cut 33 jobs and redesign 30 roles next year as part of a $4 million budget overhaul tied to its 2026-27 plan. Officials said affected employees have received notice (with 90-day warning required) and enrollment trends could prompt future staffing changes.  Cowboy State Daily

FINANCE NEWS

  • Wyoming drivers must carry minimum auto insurance with $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident limits and $20,000 in property damage; CheapInsurance.com advises that those with financed vehicles or valuable assets + a risk of underinsurance should consider higher coverage limits.  Wyoming News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Mark Gordon supported his budget proposal for the Department of Health on Monday, which includes funding to sustain preschool, home-health, and improved OBGYN access + strengthen rural health services. He submitted an exception request for federal spending as the plan awaits final approval.  Sheridan Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • Two Wyoming cowboys are competing at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas this week. Brody Wells and Brody Cress, ranked among the nation’s top 15 in saddle bronc riding, represent Team Wyoming and showcase the state’s rich rodeo tradition.  Cowboy State Daily
