COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host a 'Trees of Love' open house tomorrow from 4:30 to 5 p.m. at the SMH Cafeteria Conference Rooms — a festive event inviting local community members to enjoy holiday spirit.  The Sheridan Press
  • Dope Diabetes— a Sheridan clothing brand started by Camren Chase— is hosting a Christmas toy drive for the Sheridan Foster Parents Exchange until Dec. 12. Local donors may drop off new or gently-used toys to help brighten the season for foster families.  The Sheridan Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Sheridan College announced its Spring 2026 Season of arts events beginning Jan. 30 with The Two Tracks in a dinner & show program at the Whitney Center for the Arts, followed by exhibitions, recitals, dance, theater and concerts scheduled through May.  Sheridan Media

ECONOMY NEWS

  • ADP Pay Insights data shows Wyoming job-stayers received a 6.4% wage increase from November 2024 to November 2025, marking the highest growth among states.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Academics for All committee kicked off its 28th annual recognition program for Sheridan High School seniors, awarding top students starting today and continuing over the next several months.  The Sheridan Press
  • Six Sheridan High School cheerleaders, who earned All-American honors this summer, will join Team Bravo + participate in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade on Sunday, Dec. 7 in Waikiki, Hawaii.  Sheridan Media
  • Andrew Laszlo Jr. visited Sheridan High School today to share his father’s story of surviving the Holocaust — a powerful narrative many students had not heard before.  The Sheridan Press
  • During the Christmas holiday, the Sheridan County YMCA will host Holiday Hoops, a basketball camp for kids 9-14 to build fundamentals and teamwork. Executive Director Liz Cassiday said Coach Sergio Trocha brings 30+ years of experience to help participants improve their game.  Sheridan Media

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Stacker compiled a list using August 2025 report data from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service that shows Wyoming hunters harvested 1,111 buffleheads — among species such as mallards and Canada geese — ranking species by estimated 2024 figures.  Wyoming News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Sheridan Police Department reminded residents to plan ahead + arrange a safe ride and dress warmly if walking home from holiday parties, as Captain Tom Ringley advised on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to prevent risks like hypothermia.  Sheridan Media
  • During a Dec. 2 meeting, over 20 residents provided support for the Big Horn Recreation & Early Learning Center, and county commissioners approved its conditional use permit with a three to two vote; the new center will provide gym space, courts, and early learning classrooms to improve school safety and community activities.  City of Sheridan
