COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Sheridan Pilots Association will host its fourth annual Santa fly-in — scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Sheridan County Airport.  The Sheridan Press
  • The Sheridan Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will celebrate its 115th anniversary on Dec. 18 at the Ramada Plaza from noon to 2 p.m.  The Sheridan Press
  • Sheridan Community Land Trust will share the story of Wyoming’s last surviving streetcar Ol’ #115 — from its early route between downtown Sheridan and Fort Mackenzie to its move to Big Goose Natural Area — at two free talks; the first is on Tuesday, December 9 from 10:00–11:30 a.m. at The Hub on Smith while the second is on Tuesday, December 16 from 10:30 a.m.–12:00 at Tongue River Valley Community Center in Dayton.  Sheridan Media

  • Kayla Hert, owner of Real Deals on Home, said her favorite part of decorating for the holidays is watching her eight-month vision come together—a process she described as magical.  The Sheridan Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Ucross Artist Residency set a $25,000 goal for Giving Tuesday and communications associate Emi Whiting appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to explain how donor support helps fund meals, studio space, living accommodations, and cross-disciplinary connections for over 115 resident artists — a resource that fuels a unique Wyoming experience. This effort aims to secure the contributions needed to keep the residency program thriving.  Sheridan Media
  • Hub on Smith began its Holiday Showcase on Dec 1 with a Watercolor Show where local art is available for purchase until Dec 5—Ryan Koltiska invited the public on Public Pulse and today the Hub lobby turns into a Holiday Craft Fair with more acts set for Dec 3 and Dec 4 in the Dining Room.  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Wyoming Low Income Energy Assistance Program resumed processing eligible applications immediately after receiving 9.6 million dollars in federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services+the Wyoming Department of Family Services began notifying households of benefit amounts. The program will accept applications for winter heating support until April 30 and helps households cover heating bills and emergency needs.  Sheridan Media
