- ➤ The Kendrick Mansion at Trail End State Historic Site was nominated for USA Today’s Best Holiday Historic Home Tours for the fourth time and will host its annual holiday open house and guided tours of 'Christmas with the Kendricks' in December—offering a festive history experience for visitors. - ➤ Sheridan County students are sharing their holiday traditions by duck hunting on Thanksgiving and searching for a Christmas tree, showing that the season means more than just a break or a meal. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ Steamboat, a black bucking horse born in 1896 on Frank Foss Ranch, became a lasting symbol of Wyoming cowboys and inspired the state license plate image (commissioned in 1936 by Secretary Hunt with Allen True’s design). Cowboys like Jimmy and Clayton Danks rode Steamboat at rodeos, and the horse’s legacy still sparks debate over which rider truly represents Wyoming’s cowboy spirit (with names such as Guy Holt, Stub Farlow, and Jake Maring mentioned). - ➤ University of Wyoming student Drea Hineman earned regional recognition for her space-farming research supported by NASA—her project ranked first among 29 applicants for the 2025 NASA Space Grant fellowship. - ➤ Bighorn National Forest staff temporarily closed the Cutler Nordic Ski trails off Highway 14 north of Dayton for a blasting project on Nov. 25—aimed at improving safety during trail enhancements.
