- ➤ Dustin Stephens has taken the role as executive director at The Hub on Smith — Sheridan’s nonprofit senior center that serves over 3,000 seniors each year. The Sheridan Press

- ➤ Wyoming artist Jennifer Rife was awarded the inaugural Al and Ann Simpson Fellowship at Ucross Foundation on November 18, which supported her four-week residency that ended in late October — her work on land installations reflects the creative spirit of our state. City of Sheridan
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The SCSD#1 Board of Trustees met on November 18 in Big Horn to honor the Big Horn High School Championship Girls Volleyball team for their three-peat and to recognize the state champion cross-country girls team in their second year. The board also approved two early graduation requests and reappointed Roy Garber to the Whitney Benefits board — supporting key school programs. Sheridan Media

- ➤ The Sheridan Chamber of Commerce reports that the Department of Workforce Services is asking for public comment on proposed changes to Chapter 9 of the Workers’ Compensation program rules—changes include an increase in dental reimbursement and a new method for paying Critical Access Hospitals. Provider feedback has guided the revisions and comments will be accepted through Dec. 19. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Sheridan officials said a bill would let homeschool students join public school sports and extracurricular activities during the upcoming school year. Lawmakers plan to review the proposal as it would allow these students to participate alongside public school students + promote inclusion statewide. Wyoming Tribune Eagle
- ➤ Today, lawmakers narrowly passed a resolution to restore coal leasing in the Powder River Basin — a win for coal interests as new plans for energy exports and the BearCare health program are proposed after a pipeline blast near Cheyenne. The Teton County Fair will reintroduce pig wrestling with age limits next year, and a Sheridan resident had to hide his truck to avoid colliding white-tailed bucks during rut season. - ➤ Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation hosted The Link — Partners in Pink run/walk on Oct. 18 and raised over $50,000 to support cancer care for patients and families. This 17th annual event helped raise money for comfort and healing. The Sheridan Press
