COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Shelby Fennema, the new town clerk in Clearmont, announced weekly coffee gatherings starting today at 9 a.m. at Clearmont Town Hall—neighbors can join to share coffee, ideas, and conversation on Wednesdays when the hall is open.  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • Sheridan College Theater and Dance Department invites locals to see SALT Contemporary Dance Company perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 in Kinnison Hall at the Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College—tickets cost between $10 and $30. The event also offers master classes for theater and dance students.  Sheridan Media
  • Yesterday, Trail End Historic Site at 400 Clarendon Avenue was nominated by USA Today as one of the Best Historic Holiday Home Tours, joining sites like Monticello, Biltmore Estate, and Graceland. Voting runs until December 1—winners will be announced on December 10.  Sheridan Media
  • SAGE Community Arts is inviting its members to submit art for its fifth Members Pop-Up Show with submissions accepted November 20 to 22, the exhibit running November 28 to January 3, and an opening reception featuring The Songteller on December 11.  Sheridan Media

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On November 3, the SCSD#2 Board of Trustees held its monthly meeting where Activities Director Casey Garnhart recognized the SHS 4A Boys’ Cross Country State Champions and coaches Art Baures and Liz Moore while Superintendent Scott Stults reported a budget shortfall caused by a property tax reduction and the board approved a budget amendment; Business manager Brandon Finney was also appointed to the Wyoming Government Investment Fund Board. The board tabled the Library Materials and Access policy after community input and will meet again on November 17 for a Legislative Roundtable and on December 8 for its next meeting.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan High School Fall Drama Club will present two theatre showcases featuring monologues, scenes, songs, and one-act plays on Nov. 13—14 at 7 p.m. in the Sue Henry Auditorium ahead of the state festival.  The Sheridan Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Mark Gordon directed the Department of Family Services to launch the Hunger Relief Program that will send funds to local charities running food banks + mobile food pantries for SNAP recipients, using September data to determine awards. The program will offer emergency help this weekend and will end when federal benefits are restored after the shutdown.  Sheridan Media
  • Former Vice President and Wyoming Congressman Dick Cheney died at 84, his family said. He served under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009 and held key roles in the White House — including as Chief of Staff to President Ford.  Wyoming News Now

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Sheridan VA Medical Center is bringing back its drive-thru flu clinic to help veterans get their flu shot this season. Veterans can access the clinic by pulling onto Fort Road — follow the signs to the first parking lot on the left and bring a VA- or government-issued ID for verification.  Sheridan Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • Casper native Logan Wilson from the University of Wyoming was traded Tuesday from the Cincinnati Bengals to the Dallas Cowboys — the deal included a 2026 seventh-round pick to strengthen Dallas' defense. He remains a committed ambassador for Wyoming, promoting local causes and tourism through partnerships with Visit Casper.  Cowboy State Daily
