COMMUNITY NEWS

  • CHAPS earned its second accreditation after a long review that included on-site visits from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International—who checked its work—and the Certified Horseman’s Association—who verified its standards; the milestone now opens doors for grants from the Department of Veterans Affairs to support veteran equine therapy programs in Sheridan.  Sheridan Media
  • Wyoming Game and Fish announced that the Bud Love Youth Pheasant Hunt will be held on Nov. 15 at Bud Love Wildlife Habitat Management Area near Buffalo, where only hunters 17 and under can hunt pheasants while adults may assist by hunting other species. The Fort Phil Kearny Family Pheasant Hunt will run from Nov. 28 to 30 with adult hunters charged a fee (residents $4 and non-residents $8) and free entry for youth, and all participants must have a Pheasant Special Management Stamp with youth showing proof of a Hunter Safety Course or exemption.  Sheridan Media
  • The Downtown Sheridan Association will facilitate the Holiday Shopping Spree sweepstakes from November 1–30 — inviting local shoppers to enter for a chance to win prizes during the holiday season.  The Sheridan Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • SAGE Community Arts is preparing a black and white photography juried show that highlights key art skills including composition, light, and creative technique—Jill Benson explained submission details on Public Pulse. The call for art opened October 1st and closes November 26th while the 11th Annual Photography Show will begin on January 20th, 2026 and run until March 7th.  City of Sheridan

  • TRMS teacher Susie Fisher has been named a finalist for a presidential award—she loves teaching and cares for her students.  The Sheridan Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan County Conservation District Manager Carrie Rogaczewski said the District Tree Program for 2026 will begin taking orders in November even though the USDA Service Center is closed due to the federal shutdown—residents can place orders by email, mail, or on the district website.  Sheridan Media

HEALTH NEWS

  • A Sheridan family has reunited after their son finished his battle with cancer — Gabe said his experience deepened his faith, his love for family, and his appreciation for those around him.  The Sheridan Press
  • Enroll Wyoming is offering free assistance for marketplace health insurance open enrollment from November 1 through January 15 to help Wyoming residents understand their options — the service will guide those seeking coverage during the enrollment period.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • Heidi Huntley, director of the Family Medical Center at the JCHC, told the board that the recent Ladies Night Out Breast Health event was a success as clinic staff move into all areas of the facility after construction was completed. She added that the drive-up flu clinics were offered again this year, although fewer people attended.  Sheridan Media
