COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The City of Sheridan will host an Operation Green Light kickoff event at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Whitney Commons Park, 320 W. Alger St., featuring veteran resource tables, music, family activities, complimentary refreshments from the Fatbacks Southern BBQ truck + free green bulbs while supplies last. The event will also collect donations of nonperishable foods and personal care items + support local Veterans as part of a nationwide effort to help those transitioning from military service. - ➤ The Hub on Smith board announced that Dustin Stephens will become its new Executive Director on November 3 — a move that will see the longtime local leader strengthening services for older adults in Sheridan as he partners with staff, volunteers, and local groups. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Katusha Quintana, the shelter director, along with AJ Evans and board member Paul DelRossi announced on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse that this year’s New Year’s Eve Gala will be hosted at Quintana’s private residence with a large ballroom to benefit the shelter. The fundraiser will need local sponsors and volunteers — all proceeds support the shelter’s care for the animals. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Food Bank of Wyoming is preparing for November when SNAP benefits will not be sent. It is gathering extra food supplies + planning support to help families in need. Wyoming News Now

- ➤ On Oct. 23, the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to welcome new member Clear Creek Septic Service—provider of septic pumping, portable toilets, line jetting, septic inspections and tank locating. Sheridan Media

- ➤ The Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources will open its statewide Artist in Residence show and sale Nov. 7th and display artwork until Dec. 19th — the program features works from resident artists. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ The Museum at the Bighorns is remodeling its new space at 171 N. Main St. Director Carrie Edinger and Operations Manager Chip King said crews are adding movable walls to create flexible exhibit spaces—community donations and a matching grant will help complete Phase 2. Sheridan Media
