- ➤ Sheridan City officials held a presentation on Monday at City Hall—Mayor Rich Bridger, Committee Chair Robby Smith, and Chamber CEO Teresa Detimore announced that Anwynn Fack won the 30th Christmas Stroll Button Design Contest. Fack received a framed copy of her winning design, the first button and $100 in Chamber Bucks, and her design will be on display at Main Frame during the holiday season. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Sheridan Police Department Captain Tom Ringley urged families to review safety rules before Halloween Night, Oct. 31—reminding parents to review crossing rules and advising drivers to slow in residential areas. He suggested using reflective tape and clear face makeup so children are seen easily as they go trick-or-treating. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library — with local groups — is hosting fall events this week and into the weekend to give residents a chance to enjoy seasonal activities. The planned events will offer community members ways to celebrate the season. The Sheridan Press

- ➤ The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Arrowhead Lodge on Oct. 17 during an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting—Tracey Woehrle recently purchased the establishment. Located on U.S. Hwy 14 east of Burgess Junction, it offers a lounge, restaurant, motel suites, 20 cabins, and 45 RV spaces and is open 7 days a week for meals. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Local groups took over the Ol’ #115, Sheridan’s last streetcar, to protect a key piece of our history—volunteers have patched it up while they plan to raise $38,257 to move it to Big Goose Natural Area for restoration. Donations will help stop the decay and save this historic treasure. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Historian Janelle Molony says evidence from a family diary shows Wyatt Earp fought his first gunfight near Orin, Wyoming—challenging claims that it happened in Illinois. She mapped the wagon train's route and compared eyewitness accounts to clarify the disputed event. Cowboy State Daily

- ➤ Gasoline prices in Wyoming fell 9.8 cents per gallon last week, averaging $2.90 on Monday according to GasBuddy.com's survey of 494 stations. Wyoming Tribune Eagle

- ➤ Governor Mark Gordon attended energy meetings in Santa Fe on Monday—joining New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and Japanese Ambassador Shigeo Yamada to discuss plans for using Wyoming gas competitively; he presented a study outlining two routes that can lower shipping costs and transit times for both domestic and Asian markets. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan Memorial Hospital is installing a new 3-Tesla MRI machine that produces images twice as fast as the older 1.5T system—helping physicians diagnose patients more quickly. The hospital will keep using the 1.5T machine for patients with implants or sensitivity while staff complete training over the next few days. Sheridan Media
- ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department recently detected avian paramyxovirus in birds in Casper, Green River, Riverton and Rock Springs and is asking residents to report sightings of three or more dead birds—using a 10% bleach solution to disinfect feeders is recommended. Sheridan Media
