- ➤ A new whiskey made from 100% Wyoming-grown emmer wheat debuted Saturday in Powell to revive an ancient grain and support local family farmers. Nels Wroe of Dry Land Distillers teamed with the University of Wyoming’s Neolithic brand to produce this unique whiskey—priced at $129 a bottle—with strong local roots and ties to Sheridan. - ➤ Neltje Doubleday Kings left her wealthy East Coast life to build a new life in Wyoming as a painter, rancher and businesswoman. She gifted her ranch near Banner to the University of Wyoming to create the Neltje Center for Creativity and the Arts—giving artists and students a place to work and learn. Cowboy State Daily
- ➤ A Rock Springs inventor, William J. Johnston, developed a clockwork panoramic camera that captured a full circle view—he filed his patent in 1904 and his design changed photography while recording Native American life. Cowboy State Daily

- ➤ Columnist Gail Symons explains that Wyoming’s new school funding model shows higher average teacher salaries while districts cut staffing—leaving classrooms understaffed and real pay behind the reported numbers. - ➤ Sheridan County Commissioner Christi Haswell announced that construction was completed on a new obstacle course for ATVs, dirt bikes, and side-by-sides at 3-Poles Recreation Area north of Sheridan on October 18th— the course was built with a grant from the Wyoming State Trails Program and adds a challenging feature to the county’s approved riding area.
