BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for its 2026 Leadership Sheridan County program—local business members may apply to develop future leadership skills.  The Sheridan Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Megan Degenfelder visited Sheridan to see how school communities can offer students more career opportunities—she met with local educators to discuss stronger ties between industry and education.  The Sheridan Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan County Commissioners approved the agreement for the Tongue River Kleenburn Stabilization Design Water Resources Improvement Project—County Engineer Ken Muller explained that the Conservation District will cover design costs up to $75,000 while the county will cover any extra funds, with a final decision coming soon.  Sheridan Media
  • County officials approved new rules for non-leased county land near Keystone Road — the measures went into effect last week.  The Sheridan Press
  • The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking hunters for help this fall to collect samples from mule deer and elk in specific hunt areas in the Big Horn Basin for chronic wasting disease testing — including mandatory submissions in Deer Hunt Area 164 for certain license holders. Hunters harvesting in these areas must follow the guidelines as part of a statewide effort to monitor the disease.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan County commissioners approved an equipment use agreement that sets a $250 deposit for renting road closure signs and barricade kits for planned events — the deposit will be returned if the equipment is undamaged, as explained by County Engineer Ken Muller.  City of Sheridan

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation’s annual Link — Partners in Pink Walk and Run will be held Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at Whitney Commons to raise funds for hospital programs.  The Sheridan Press

  • Sheridan County YMCA Sports Director Jake Mack said youth basketball registration for 2nd and 3rd graders is open until October 10 — he will accept last-minute sign-ups for the fall season.  Sheridan Media
