- ➤ Sheridan staff is seeking game booth hosts and food vendors for the annual fall pumpkin festival — interested applicants should submit details soon as the event is planned for later this season. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses to register for the 30th Annual Sheridan Christmas Stroll (theme '30 Years of Strolling') with registrations due by October 21. The event will be held on November 28 from 8 am to 8 pm with Main Street and Grinnell Plaza closed from 4 to 8 pm for family-friendly festivities and a fireworks show at 8 pm. City of Sheridan

- ➤ The Sheridan branch of Range said it will run its 5th annual Range Gives Thanks promotion during October to help non-profit groups in Sheridan and Buffalo. - ➤ October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Sheridan Police responded to over 100 domestic violence incidents and made nearly 50 arrests last year. - ➤ The Wyoming Department of Transportation is finishing paving on Buffalo Main Street from Fort Street to Hart Street by the end of this week and drivers are advised to take alternate routes due to lane closures, flagging, short waits, and heavy truck traffic. On South Main Street, work on the Cemetery Creek culvert area is set for striping in early October—shoulder work, back filling, seeding, sidewalks, ADA upgrades, and water line tie-in will follow. - ➤ Johnson County Commission Chair Bill Novotny invited residents and visitors to see fall colors along Crazy Woman Canyon after crews replaced two aging bridges and reopened the narrow road a few weeks ago. - ➤ Since 12:01 a.m. on Oct 1, the United States Government shutdown left most federal agencies without funds, but Wyoming officials are filling short-term funding gaps with protocols set by Governor Mark Gordon—State Budget Director Kevin Hibbard said minimal disruption will occur for a few weeks.
