- ➤ The WYO Performing Arts and Education Center announced that the musical comedy Hello, Dolly! will premiere the WYO Theater in Sheridan on Saturday, Oct. 18, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the curtain rising at 7 p.m.—the event will feature an all local cast, a live band, passed d’oeuvres and specialty cocktails. - ➤ Sheridan High School librarian Ladonna Leibrich was shocked when she learned she received the Wyoming Library Association Outstanding Librarian Award—an honor recognizing her dedication to library services. The Sheridan Press
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Property owners near Dayton and Ranchester face extra runoff in the Tongue River and Goose Creek watersheds after the Elk Fire increased sediment and ash in small reservoirs. They will continue cleaning the reservoirs to remove buildup and keep water clear. Wyoming Tribune Eagle
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ A recent analysis by Upgraded Points finds that 13.6% of Wyoming’s young cardholders are severely delinquent on their credit, averaging $3,734 in debt and with 36.6% using more than 75% of their available limits—figures that compare to a 15.5% national rate and highlight growing financial challenges for young adults. - ➤ Governor Mark Gordon worked with Interior Secretary Doug Burgum & other leaders to introduce new rules to boost coal production and help keep coal plants running. The policies will extend the life of coal plants and support Wyoming coal communities. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Sheridan County Commissioners approved a Lessor’s Consent to Assignment between McDonnell & McDonnell II Land, LLC and Bighorn Airways, Inc. for a property at the Sheridan County Airport Business Park on September 29, 2025. - ➤ The Bureau of Land Management opened a 30-day comment period on Monday to request input on 68 oil and gas leases covering 94,465 acres scheduled for a March 2026 sale — the agency will use comments submitted by October 30 to assess potential deferrals and environmental impacts. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Sheridan County commissioners approved a hiring freeze in June to manage a budget shortfall — they have since approved replacement hires to fill urgent roles. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ Sheridan County Commissioners approved publishing a Notice of Intent to vacate County Road #85 – also known as Rapid Creek Road – after County Engineer Ken Muller discussed the proposal. The notice will be advertised for public comment. Sheridan Media
