- ➤ The Chamber of Commerce held an Ambassadors' ribbon cutting on Sept. 18 to open the new Whitney Commons East Park Playground at Whitney Commons Park (320 W. Alger St.). The 9,700 square foot playground has separate areas for young children and older kids with picnic benches and workout equipment. City of Sheridan
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The WYO Film Festival will expand with interactive features when it takes place Oct. 2–5 in Sheridan. Festival Creative Director Breton Shepard said strong community support and sponsorships helped add a live voting tool from Votemo that lets audiences rank films fairly during the event. - ➤ Sheridan’s historic WYO Theater installed a new high-tech Auri system that cancels background noise and works with hearing aids and earbuds, letting everyone enjoy a clearer performance. The theater will host an open house on Sept 25 to let guests test the system and receive giveaways — a move that may set a new trend for local theaters. Cowboy State Daily
