- ➤ The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of a new hangar—located at 2540 Hangar Avenue—for Sheridan Pilots 307 – Flight School on Sept. 17; owner J.T. Grainger said the facility supports the growth seen over the past five years at the FAA-certified school. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Sheridan College’s Edward A. Whitney Gallery hosted the opening reception for David Morrison’s Remnants of Future Landscapes yesterday at 4 p.m.—Gallery Director Brittney Denham announced the exhibit featuring mixed media works that explore human impact on the environment. City of Sheridan
- ➤ The library has opened a new exhibit called Migración Betalaberos that honors Hispanic heritage and shows how betalaberos built Wyoming's farms during the sugar beet boom. Wyoming native Ismael Dominguez crafted the exhibit to highlight this important part of our state's history. Wyoming News Now

- ➤ The Sheridan County Commission voted to deny two license agreements that would have allowed installation of overhead power lines on County Road 111, also known as Box Cross Road, due to local residents' opposition. Commissioners Holly Jennings and Michael Arzy explained that deciding on power line routes is not within the commission’s authority — leaving future decisions to other regulators. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Sheridan County Assessor Paul Fall warned residents that the state’s tax exemption rule now requires homeowners to confirm their home is their primary residence for the 2026 tax year—this change follows the automatic exemption from 2025. Applications open Oct. 1 and the deadline to apply for the 25 percent exemption is Feb. 2. Sheridan Media
- ➤ City Planner Kelly Schroeder said staff discovered a zoning violation in fall 2024 on a 1.78-acre property at 1140 Coffeen Avenue and proposed ordinance 2296 to rezone it from B-1 to M-1 Industrial—this change will allow a wider range of commercial uses and must be resolved before the 2026 liquor license renewal. - ➤ Sheridan County Commissioners approved an amendment to extend the airport lease with Bighorn Airways, Inc. for a three month period—airport manager Robert Gill noted the decision had no discussion. City of Sheridan
