- ➤ The Chamber of Commerce is planning a Manufacturing Month celebration in October—more than 10 local manufacturers in Sheridan and Johnson counties will host public tours on various days. - ➤ Wyoming’s congressional delegation and state leaders condemned the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk—shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10th. Cowboy State Daily
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, September 9th, Carrie Edinger, Director of Museum at the Bighorns, spoke at the Sheridan Community Land Trust Explore History program at the Hub on Smith and shared artifacts from Big Goose Creek including photos of local floods and historical sites—while Kevin Knapp introduced the event. The program will be repeated on September 16th at 10:30 a.m. at the Tongue River Valley Community Center in Dayton—offering another look at the region's history. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Kim Cannon was named the honoree of the 2025 Lotus Award (WYO Performing Arts and Education Center) for guiding the theater through financial and political challenges, and she was recognized at a private reception on Sept 9 (Sheridan). City of Sheridan

- ➤ Wyoming Business Council CEO Josh Dorrell said Sheridan is a fantastic case study for boosting economic progress — his remark shows the city as a model for other communities and hints at more innovative strategies ahead. The Sheridan Press
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming Highway Patrol Captain Erik Jorgensen and Lieutenant Louis Tegdesch urged drivers around Sheridan County to slow down during dawn and dusk+ when deer and other wildlife may cross roads more often as cooler temperatures bring increased activity+ to help prevent collisions. - ➤ Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced extra AIS inspection training for residents due to high public interest. The free training will be held on Monday, Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Game and Fish Sheridan Regional Office—led by local specialist Reed Moore. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Today, the Sheridan Commission approved a request by the Last Chance Bar for a partial closure of Johnson Street in Big Horn for a customer appreciation party and the Volcan Collision Car Show scheduled for October 4 from noon to 6 p.m. The commission also approved a $50,000 Official Bond and Oath for Treasurer Jerry Eugene Davis of Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County—effective since June 30, 2025 and running through June 30, 2026. - ➤ Senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis and Representative Harriet Hageman supported Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s decision to cancel the Public Lands Rule—saying it would help protect Wyoming land uses. Wyoming Tribune Eagle
