- ➤ The Big Horn Lions Club is hosting the Bill Rohrbaugh Memorial Golf Tournament, a fundraiser that begins 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 at Powder Horn—registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and will feature scramble play, raffles, a silent auction, and an ATV hole-in-one prize to benefit local scholarships, vision care and community projects. - ➤ Yesterday, Arvada-Clearmont School held its first community lunch of the year hosted by House KOA, with parents and community members in attendance. Teacher Jonathan Broersma, who helped launch the house system, said the event went well — and House Herculean will host the next lunch on October 1, with those attending asked to call the school a week in advance. - ➤ Today, Sheridan’s Carla Crayton was named Wyoming’s Andrus Award winner by AARP Wyoming after an extensive online and social media vote—she will be honored at AARP Wyoming’s Volunteer Summit at UCross Ranch on October 16. Sheridan Media
- ➤ The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Sugared Peaks with an Ambassadors' ribbon cutting on Aug. 28. Sugared Peaks is a home bakery that makes custom sugar cookies, cakes, cupcakes and more. Sheridan Media

- ➤ A 21-year-old Sheridan man pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Sheridan County Circuit Court on charges of eluding officers, reckless driving, littering and driving while under the influence—court records confirm the developments. The Sheridan Press

- ➤ Grace and Ian Cannon-Wallace with music director Stephanie Neujahr will join host Floyd Whiting on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse at 9:06 a.m. to discuss their new Dinosaur Rock Musical: A Jukebox Journey Through Time — a production set for Sept. 6-7 at the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center featuring performances by the Young Theatre Makers Ensemble and educational displays from Science Kids and the Natural History Museum of Wyoming. - ➤ The city of Sheridan reported that it issued more building permits through the end of August than it did in the same period last year—officials say the increase is linked to a rise in local development. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ The City Council certified the final plat for Gillespie Draw Subdivision Tuesday night after confirming it meets all rules for the Joint Planning Area between the City and Sheridan County—covering 622 acres planned for 15 lots, including 2 conservation lots and 13 residential lots—and following an MOU that gives City staff review rights on development proposals. - ➤ WYDOT announced Monday that the speed limit on WYO 336 east of Sheridan will drop from 70 mph to 50 mph between mile markers 1.52 and 2.43 in the week of September 8 due to a traffic study for the Story House Development—planned to include over 380 new residential units and commercial space. The change will address limited sight distance at a curve and at the intersection with County Road 84 to improve safety for both drivers and residents. City of Sheridan
