- ➤ Sheridan celebrated Labor Day yesterday with a parade beginning at Eagles’ hall at 8:30 a.m.—the route led to Kendrick Park where Mayor John S. Taylor and other leaders spoke. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 33-year-old Wyola woman was sentenced in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for crimes committed in Sheridan County this past spring—she led a high-speed chase on I-90 by driving over 125 mph, crossing the median and going the wrong way after drinking, and she received a suspended sentence with probation, time served and orders to pay costs and restitution. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Tongue River Middle School Robotics program is preparing for a new season as it seeks a second assistant coach for its growing team—15 to 16 students learning to design, build and explain their robots. - ➤ The Wyoming Department of Education released 2024-25 WY-TOPP and WY-ALT scores showing statewide increases of 1-3% with English Language Arts and Science now matching or exceeding pre-pandemic levels—Sheridan County School District #1 had all grade levels above state averages while Sheridan County School District #2 saw 10th grade ELA below average.
