- ➤ Clint Jessen and his wife Ashley run the Jessen Wheat Company north of Pine Bluffs and use regenerative farming to help the soil by rotating crops and trading organic hay for natural fertilizer from a Colorado partner. - ➤ Sheridan County commissioners approved an agreement with the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security for a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, Post Fire that will fund completion of the Sheridan Warning System Project. The grant totals just under $48,000 with a county match of about $12,000 and monitor locations were not disclosed, according to County Emergency Management Coordinator Jesse Ludikhuize. - ➤ The University of Wyoming Extension launched a new online site to help producers affected by wildfires coordinate hay donations and fire recovery resources — users must enter their county, contact details, and exact hay needs so donors can provide the right feed. Sheridan Media
- ➤ The Bureau of Land Management announced that it is moving forward with the West Antelope III coal lease-by-application project in the Powder River Basin covering 3,500 acres next to the Antelope Mine in Campbell and Converse counties — the final environmental impact statement has been released. The agency will hold a public hearing on September 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Town Hall in Wright — officials will review the project's fair market value and economic recovery potential. Sheridan Media
