- ➤ At a recent Sheridan City Council meeting, Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns’ development director Meredith Sopko explained the Housing Land Trust Initiative that helps local families with incomes at 30 to 80 percent of the median achieve home ownership. The initiative addresses critical housing needs in our community + supports one of four key programs offered by Habitat. Sheridan Media

- ➤ On August 20, Sharie Shada led a white gloves tour at the Kendrick Mansion that let guests see hidden rooms and storage areas behind glass barriers—showing parts like the ballroom and musician's loft. The sold-out tour in the 13,748 square foot home built in 1913 will return next summer—organizers plan more tours then. Sheridan Media
- ➤ The Sheridan Community Land Trust is hosting a free Discovery Session in Plein Air Sketching led by Randy Stout. The session will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 4 at Big Goose Natural Area, 14 Lane Ln — sketchbooks are provided and participants must bring drawing utensils and a chair or blanket. - ➤ Sheridan Fire-Rescue has welcomed two new firefighters—part of its plan to fix staffing shortages and meet 2025 emergency response goals. The department continues active recruitment to build a stronger team for handling emergencies in our community. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ Johnson County commissioners approved Resolution No. 753 that changes the mill levies for the county special districts—Commission Chair Bill Novotny detailed the levy amounts and there was no discussion during the vote. The action took place on August 22. City of Sheridan
- ➤ The Sheridan County Commission approved a report from the County Public Works Department that details a petition by Sheridan Heights Ranch, LLC to de-annex property from the City of Sheridan—Commissioner Nick Siddle said the move will aid the permitting process for the subdivision.
