- ➤ At 7 p.m. on August 16, a Lake Party Fundraiser took place at Lake DeSmet in Buffalo to support the St. Francis Animal Shelter which helps care for and adopt out animals. The event at 139 Monument Road—off exit 53 on I-90—requested a $20 donation with all proceeds aiding the shelter. City of Sheridan
- ➤ The Sheridan Chamber announced its 30th Annual Christmas Stroll with the theme '30 Years of Strolling' and said the winning button design will be announced soon—sponsorships are still available. Secret elves will give Chamber Bucks every Saturday until Christmas to shoppers with the Stroll button. City of Sheridan

- ➤ Adam Stephens was named the new terrestrial habitat biologist for Big Horn Basin by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Cody Region on August 16 — he will lead habitat restoration projects, including beaver translocation, following Jerry Altermatt’s 33-year retirement. Stephens brings nine years of regional experience after beginning his career at the Bureau of Land Management. City of Sheridan
