- ➤ The Sheridan Pilots Association will host its annual airshow, fly-in and open house on Saturday, August 23 at the Sheridan County Airport beginning at 8 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast—families will enjoy the display of planes, cars and activities for kids. Sheridan Media
- ➤ News Media Corporation shut down eight newspapers in Wyoming, leaving many local workers without clear pay and communities at risk of losing vital news coverage. Editor Marie Hamilton has rallied local help to print an edition next week — a determined push to keep these legacy newspapers alive. Casper Star-Tribune

- ➤ Police Chief Sean Bissett reported on August 12 that law enforcement agencies including the BPD recovered a stolen tractor-trailer and took the suspect into custody—he added that Longmire Days and the County Fair & Rodeo were smooth and noted over 3,300 calls in July with 827 officer responses and 10 arrests. - ➤ The WYO Performing Arts and Education Center will host a one-night return of Vaudeville at the historic WYO Theater, featuring music, comedy, and variety acts that celebrate the classic art form. - ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced that deer hunt season dates in Hunt Areas 15, 59 and 64 are set for Oct. 20-31 in nonresident regions T and J—this change comes after over 30 years of practice and public feedback. Hunters are urged to submit chronic wasting disease samples in Hunt Area 15 as part of ongoing monitoring efforts. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Local officials installed a new emergency alert system that will send alerts to Sheridan County residents—ensuring they receive key emergency information when needed. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ With the new school year starting, teens will drive themselves to Sheridan High School and Wyoming Highway Patrol Lieutenant Louis Tegdesch warns them to buckle up, put away mobile devices, and obey speed limits—parents must set clear rules as examples.
