- ➤ A new exhibit called Coming Home: The Northern Cheyenne Odyssey opens at Fort Phil Kearny from Aug 1 to Sept 14. It shows the stories of two bands led by Chief Dull Knife and Chief Little Wolf—featuring work by Northern Cheyenne historians that gives a unique view of their history. Sheridan Media
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan College announced it will build 40 horse stalls for its 50-member rodeo team, which will reduce public access to the Agripark Building as the facility now prioritizes team practice and events (College President Dr. Walter Tribley noted that public events will be limited compared to previous years). The college rodeo season will begin on September 5th in Chadron with its annual event scheduled on September 26th. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Sheridan County School District #2 welcomes students, families and staff for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year. Superintendent Scott Stults said enrollment is expected to be similar to last year with more kindergarten entries, a smaller teacher applicant pool and two new principals at Meadowlark Elementary and Sheridan Junior High. - ➤ Federal Judge Donald Molloy ruled that the Fish and Wildlife Service broke the law last year when it denied a petition to protect gray wolves in the northern Rocky Mountains—its decision now requires the agency to review federal protections for wolves including those in Wyoming. Conservation advocates said the ruling offers renewed hope for wolf recovery under the Endangered Species Act. Casper Star-Tribune

- ➤ The Wyoming Department of Transportation updated the Buffalo Main Street project, stating that epoxy overlay is scheduled for today and Tuesday on the Clear Creek Bridge—causing lane closures and the temporary shutdown of West Fetterman and the Busy Bee parking area—and utility upgrades on North Main from Fort Street to Hart Street are progressing with paving planned by mid-month; pedestrians are asked to use sidewalks with caution since they are closed to bicyclists.
