Visitors in Clearmont will see the historic jail built in 1922 for drunks and bootleggers—famous for a 1926 incident when skunks disrupted the inmates.
The small two-cell concrete structure, with its barred windows and preserved chimney from the stove, has been kept much as it was when it saw its final use on Father’s Day in June.
🏥 Health
Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s Board of Trustees approved the fiscal year 2026 budget that sets an operating budget of about $400 million and an expense budget of about $200 million.
CEO Mike McCafferty said the hospital will work to achieve a break-even operating margin after a decrease in births and overall patient activity + will remain cautious with its investments.
