  • Today the 2025 Johnson County Fair kicks off with Youth Rodeo Day in the Main Arena featuring a pie contest, a 4-H/FFA Round Robin and rodeo slack; Saturday will offer a pancake breakfast, a Klondike Rush 5K/10K, a parade, rodeo and Junior Livestock Sale in the Show Ring while Sunday will host a rodeo and Dog Race Finals—results will be posted on Sheridan Media as they become available.  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • Erin Kranz-Linden and Jay Arcarese, founders of Ace in the Hole Players, introduced their new dinner theater troupe on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse and announced that their production of The Music Man will open August 7 and run through August 10 at the Kalif Shrine.  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Wyoming legislators voted Wednesday on a 250 million dollar plan to boost oil recovery by CO2 injection and rejected a resolution for a CO2 pipeline compact with neighboring states. Committee members kept alive proposals that include tax exemptions and a grant fund to help smaller operators recover oil from aging fields.  Cowboy State Daily
  • WYDOT released its latest update on the Buffalo Main Street project on July 31—South Main Street at Cemetery Creek Culvert now directs traffic to the east side and pedestrians are told to avoid the detour. The department said part of South Main Street will close on August 2 from 8 a.m. until the end of the parade while utility upgrades continue on North Main Street.  Sheridan Media

HEALTH NEWS

  • During Wednesday night's meeting, Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees approved the 2026 budget — along with a new pharmacy project and updated plans for its behavioral health unit. The board said the projects will be implemented in phases to improve patient care.  The Sheridan Press
