COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Sheridan County Library managers Cassie Stone & Zola Shockley invited families to visit the library booth at the CHAPS Tournament of Knights on July 26, a one-day medieval festival that benefits CHAPS Equine Assisted Services. Families will design a coat of arms at the booth and join a ten-minute craft session from 10 a.m. to noon in the Wyoming Room on Aug 6.  Sheridan Media
  • A local nonprofit quilting group, Love in Stitches, delivered hand-crafted quilts to Sheridan Memorial Hospital pediatric patients today—boosting comfort during care. The hospital nursing team welcomed the delivery and said the quilts brighten young patients’ days.  The Sheridan Press

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On July 23, 2025, Wyoming Game & Fish began projects with Bighorn National Forest in the northern Bighorns to cut conifers from riparian areas and aspen stands along Little and Big Goose creeks and Highway 14. The work will improve forage for moose and other ungulates and is expected to finish by the end of July.  City of Sheridan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The board approved the budget with an amendment that cut spending by $7K—another proposed cut of $321K did not pass.  The Sheridan Press
  • State officials tested a digital currency system last week that cut contractor payment processing from 45 days to seconds — a change that could let emergency funds reach first responders quickly — and the secure system may soon help speed up disaster recovery efforts. The test is part of Wyoming's push to roll out the nation’s first state-backed cryptocurrency later this summer.  Cowboy State Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sheridan medical professionals — including nurse practitioner Amy Rabon who launched the Sisterhood Sanctuary weight management program in 2019 and saw enrollment grow from 25 to over 200 — have urged patients to use caution with popular weight loss drugs due to safety concerns.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
