- ➤ 20-year-old Isabella Yellowtail, a member of the Crow Tribe, was crowned as the 2026 Sheridan WYO Rodeo Queen in Sheridan—she will serve as a local ambassador for rodeo and Wyoming traditions in upcoming events. The Sheridan Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan County School District 2 approved a $72,500,944.14 budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year — including $57,254,452 from the general fund to support school operations. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ At a board meeting on July 14, SCSD#2 announced its participation in the Community Eligibility Provision program so that students at eligible schools including Henry A. Coffeen+ Highland Park+ Woodland Park+ Meadowlark+ Sagebrush+ The Wright Place+ John C. Schiffer Collaborative School+ Story Elementary will get free breakfast and lunch starting July 1 and continuing until June 30, 2029. Sheridan Media
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Jesse Ludikhuize, Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator, said sandbag filling locations are open across the county with free sand and free sandbags for residents to protect their homes. Residents must fill the sandbags using their own shovels & gloves and work with a partner for safety. Sheridan Media
- ➤ The Wyoming Department of Transportation announced an update on the Buffalo Main Street Project, stating that on South Main Street from the Bypass Road to Interstate 25, Croell will begin paving the wear course today — tabs will be placed for striping. Work on the Angus-to-Brock section will resume later this week if weather permits, and North Main Street is finishing service line connections as motorists face short delays due to traffic control and wet paint.
