COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Kiwanis Club of Sheridan held its annual duck race at Kendrick Park after members secured last-minute ducks from Grinnell Plaza—contestants Sarah Lemon, Drew Davis and Cooper Stach won $750, $500 and $250 respectively as about 1,100 ducks were sold to raise funds.  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Thursday, July 17, at 6 p.m., Fort Phil Kearny will host a free program inside the visitor center where the Native American Student Interpretive Rangers will present their second program and Macariah Pine will share Crow culture through traditional regalia (a partnership with the Fort Phil Kearny/Bozeman Trail Association, the Bighorn National Forest and Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site).  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan County Commissioners approved a consent to assignment at the county airport for McDonnell and McDonnell II Land and Little Horn State Bank (requested by airport manager Robert Gill). They voted unanimously with no comments or questions raised.  City of Sheridan
  • The Army Corps completed major restorations at Goose Creek last fall, and officials now plan to finish work on the downtown concrete chutes. They will review final project details soon—ensuring the work meets community needs.  The Sheridan Press
  • The Sheridan County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Second Floor Board Room at the courthouse addition to consider a retail liquor license transfer from Arrowhead Lodge to Arrowhead Wyoming for the 2025-26 license year and to ratify 24-hour Malt Beverage Permits for Big Horn Equestrian Center and Last Chance Bar for upcoming events in July, August, and September — the meeting is open to the public.  Sheridan Media
