- ➤ Sheridan WYO Rodeo officials said they expanded the shuttle service to ease parking issues and congestion at the county fairgrounds. The shuttles run every 20 to 30 minutes from the high school and the public parking area at 103 Gould Street from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. and will operate for two hours after each performance from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m.—the changes aim to help rodeo attendees reach events smoothly. - ➤ Ryan Landis and Robin Ruff from Hub on Smith appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to explain the support programs offered in the Tongue River Valley. Ruff coordinates meal deliveries and support groups at the Tongue River Community Center and said congregate meals are served Monday through Friday at noon at the Dayton Community Center. - ➤ The Sheridan Regional Office will close at noon on July 11 for the WYO Rodeo — reopening at 8 a.m. on July 14 — and the AIS watercraft check station on 5th Street will remain open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Wyoming Game and Fish confirmed New Zealand mudsnails were found in Gelatt Lake and Wheatland Reservoir #3 near Laramie. Sheridan Media
- ➤ On Monday night, the Sheridan City Council approved an ordinance to rezone nine properties on Canfield Street, Kooi Street and North Main Street from B-1 to B-2 Business District to expand allowed uses and better match the area. City Planner Kelly Schroeder said the properties were annexed in 1973 — the change will help align zoning with current uses. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Due to critical fire conditions, the county announced partial fire restrictions starting at 8:00 a.m. today based on recommendations from fire officials & rural fire chiefs. The rules ban open burning & fireworks until cooler weather returns this fall. Sheridan Media
- ➤ City Works Director Kevin Silbernagel told council that the baseball field at Prosinski Park was damaged in a car accident that broke the dugout + fence; repair quotes have been sent to the driver’s insurance with fixes scheduled after the baseball season ends. Mayor Shane Schrader said the driver had a medical emergency and the baseball league will meet with the council to decide next steps. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Sheridan’s Isaac and Mary Hayward won a wife-carrying race on July 4 in Ranchester, finishing in 1 minute and 16 seconds—just beating local competitors Gene Leath and Katie Taylor. - ➤ The USPA Polo Pony Breeding Committee has chosen Big Horn Polo Club to host a pilot program featuring the American Polo Pony Registry during the Shane Winkler Memorial tournament from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 20. The program will test a new prize distribution system by awarding over $20,000 in prizes to top horses & their owners while collecting feedback to spur future polo breeding efforts. Sheridan Media
