  • The Brinton Museum is set to open its summer exhibition Anatomy of Life & Land: Jacob Aguiar and Kathryn Mapes Turner on July 11 in the S. K. The exhibit will feature works that explore themes of life and land.  The Sheridan Press
  • Cody singer-songwriter Kalyn Beasley released his new song Ranchin’ Rich featuring friend Ned LeDoux, which satirizes the financial struggles of real ranchers — the tune was inspired by a bar conversation about the everyday challenges of Wyoming ranching.  Cowboy State Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Justice Department filed a Statement of Interest in the Equality State Policy Center vs. Chuck Gray lawsuit to support Wyoming’s law that requires proof of citizenship for voter registration—arguing the rule helps prevent voter fraud. The department said the measure protects voter confidence in the election process.  Sheridan Media
  • On April 7, the Sheridan City Council approved Ordinance 2287 that amended the M-1 zoning district to add heavy industrial uses requiring Special Exemption and created an M-2 district for industrial uses without exemption. The Council will consider a resolution on Monday, July 7 at 5:30 p.m. (in Council Chambers at City Hall) to grant exemptions to eight businesses and to rezone nine north Sheridan properties as the exemption process ends October 6.  Sheridan Media

HEALTH NEWS

  • Earlier this year, Wyoming introduced a Medicare birthday rule—expanding Medigap options for seniors. Health officials say the change will give Wyoming seniors more Medicare plan choices—helping them access better coverage.  Casper Star-Tribune

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • A couple in Big Horn has built a giant trapeze rig in their backyard to start Wyoming’s only trapeze club—where 12 members practice flips safely using harnesses and nets. They host training sessions for new members and plan more practice sessions this summer.  Cowboy State Daily
