The Sheridan WYO Rodeo Boot Kick Off marks the start of Rodeo Week and is hosted by the Chamber Ambassadors + the WYO Rodeo Board.
Across Wyoming, dozens of communities will celebrate Independence Day today with fireworks displays, parades, and special events that include music, food, and family activities.
Local fire departments warn that only permitted public displays and designated areas may host fireworks — personal fireworks are prohibited on most public lands.
🌲 Environment
Sheridan County Weed and Pest will conduct an aerial mosquito larvicide application Monday and Tuesday, July 7–8 along local rivers and streams as the second of three summer treatments prompted by reports of increased mosquito activity in the Big Goose and Tongue River drainages—this treatment will target species including Culex tarsalis to lower the risk of West Nile Virus.
🏛️ Government
The Sheridan County Commission approved a Notice of Intent to vacate County Road 85 (Rapid Creek Road).
County Engineer Ken Muller confirmed the road accesses only private lands and noted he was appointed as viewer on the petition.
