- ➤ Miss Sheridan 2025, Anastacia Graves, appeared on Public Pulse to promote her platform Breaking the Silence: Speaking Up Against Domestic Violence and to preview her participation in the Miss Wyoming Pageant on Saturday, June 28 at 6 p.m. at the WYO Theater—she is a Sheridan native dedicated to serving her community. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Sheridan man, 25-year-old Nathan Gainforth, was arraigned Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court where he pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated assault and battery + domestic battery following an incident on May 21 when he allegedly held a box cutter to a woman's throat and struck her face + his three-day trial will begin on November 17 with a pretrial conference at 11 a.m. on October 23 after his request to lower a $20,000 cash-only bond was denied due to his criminal history. - ➤ On June 28th at 1 p.m., Mary Ellen McWilliams and special guest Mike Koury will present a talk on the role of the Union Pacific Railroad along the Bozeman Trail at the Fort Phil Kearny Interpretive Center as part of the Hell on Wheels exhibit (general state park fees apply). Sheridan Media
- ➤ The printmaking program at the Wagon Box Site was canceled on Sunday, June 22 due to inclement weather and is now rescheduled to Saturday, June 28 at 10 a.m. Participants will study native and non-native grasses and make a cyanotype print under the guidance of Absaroka District Interpretive Ranger Mary Negri—registration requires a $10 suggested donation. - ➤ The University of Wyoming will host a free educational field day at the Sheridan Research and Extension Center on July 1—showcasing new agricultural research. The Sheridan Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lieutenant Doug Sanders was promoted to Patrol Lieutenant on June 24 and will lead the patrol division—standing in for Sheriff Levi Dominguez as needed. He has served in many roles since 2005, gaining experience in detention, special response, and active shooter training. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Today, the Wyoming Army National Guard opened an over 27,000 square foot field maintenance shop next to Sheridan College that will replace the Lovell facility 100 miles west. Guard Colonel James Ezell said the state-of-the-art shop — built at a cost of $17.9 million — will allow local vehicle maintenance and free some for training in Guernsey. Sheridan Media
