  • The Museum at the Bighorns has finished Phase 1 of its redesign at the Woolworth Building and welcomed visitors during the year’s first 3rd Thursday event. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Local firefighters told the Appropriations Committee on Monday that a shortage of personnel and equipment could weaken Wyoming’s wildfire response if another large season unfolds. Officials added that Wyoming has fewer fire engines & staffing compared to other Western states and proposed hiring more trainers and staff to address burnout.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Sheridan County Sheriff Levi Dominguez has promoted Doug Sanders to undersheriff and patrol lieutenant—Sanders will lead the patrol division in the sheriff’s office.  The Sheridan Press
  • State Rep. Karlee Provenza accused Gov. Gordon and Rep. Hageman of being partners in a public land grab after they supported a past lawsuit on shifting federal lands to state control, saying their stance paves the way for Rep. Mike Lee’s proposal to sell millions of acres over the next five years (Provenza wrote in a guest column). Local critics worry that selling these lands will leave Wyoming without enough funds for schools and essential services.  Cowboy State Daily
