COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The WYO Theater and Bighorn Homebrew Club will host the Seventh Annual Untapped Homebrew Festival on Saturday, July 5 from noon to 4 p.m. on Brundage Street between Main and Brooks Streets — the festival will feature 35 homebrewed beers, live music from Daniel and the Rats, We’re Here for the Beer Polka Band and Mark Paninos, barbecue from Rollin’ Smoke and contests with cash prizes; tickets cost $25.  City of Sheridan
  • The Sheridan Chamber of Commerce is planning a WYO Rodeo Boot Kick Off event on Tuesday, July 8 at Whitney Commons Park, where children’s stick horse races begin at 5 p.m. and a boot competition for teens and adults will follow; registration (at 4:30 p.m.) is required to compete for over $1,300 in Chamber Bucks, so participants should arrive early due to limited spots.  City of Sheridan

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Wyoming Game and Fish Department invites current college students and recent graduates to apply to the Wyoming Collegiate Conservation Symposium at Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp in Dubois, which runs Aug. 14-17. Participants gain hands-on training from experienced staff, and the program costs $50 — including food and lodging — with scholarships available before the June 30 application deadline.  City of Sheridan

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Game and Fish Department asked Sheridan residents to leave fawns, calves, and baby birds alone after experts said mothers keep them hidden to protect against predators — officials urged keeping dogs leashed and maintaining a safe distance from wildlife.  City of Sheridan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan City Council will review the fiscal year 2026 budget at their business meeting on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall (Council Chambers on the third floor), where they will also hold a public hearing on the budget, certify the City’s Mill Levy, and consider an ordinance amending courts, fines and imprisonment.  Sheridan Media
