  • The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Studio Three O Seven on May 23 with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting. Owner Teresa Johnson now offers full-service salon services including haircuts, perms and color, manicures, pedicures, skincare and massage at her salon on 334 N. CULTURE NEWS

  • Sheridan artist Joel Ostlind and Buffalo-based muralist Lisa Norman have collaborated on a 10ft by 66ft art installation for the Woolworth Building, which will be unveiled at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, with funding from Security State Bank and oversight by a committee led by Paul Del Rossi—details discussed on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse.  City of Sheridan
  • Today, the museum at the Bighorns opened its small new downtown space—its first phase—near the building’s entrance so that Sheridanites and visitors can view exhibits.  The Sheridan Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan City Councilman Greg Luhman and Utilities Director Dan Roberts announced that US Army Corps of Engineers Chief Lieutenant General Butch Graham and Colonel Robert Newbauer will visit Sheridan on July 9—10 to review the completed 1135 Goose Creek Project Ecosystem Restoration, with a project completion ceremony starting at 2 p.m. at Mill Park on July 10. The Army officials will also tour additional projects and attend the Sheridan WYO Rodeo on Thursday night as a way to celebrate the US Army’s 250th birthday on June 14.  Sheridan Media
  • The EPA rolled back Biden-era emissions rules on coal-fired power plants after disputes with Wyoming officials, and local utility leaders said the move could help stabilize power bills by boosting the use of Wyoming coal—while public health advocates warned it might lower air quality.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Clearmont Town Council met on June 9 with Wyoming Business Council members, school board officials and local stakeholders to discuss funding challenges, aging infrastructure and the impact of property tax changes on town revenue. The meeting also addressed the closing of Clear Creek Stop, school staffing issues and plans to market Clearmont as a bedroom community — efforts that local leaders say are key to the town's future growth.  Sheridan Media
