- ➤ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department invites families to join Kids Fishing Day at The Bear Lodge Resort Pond in Burgess Junction on June 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Resident youth under 14 do not need a fishing license while children ages 14-17 can purchase a $3 license and nonresident rules differ + free lunch is provided and families must RSVP. - ➤ Fraudsters target Wyoming residents with text scams posing as the Wyoming Department of Transportation by threatening to cancel driving privileges and directing recipients to a spoofed website for false fines + law enforcement and cybersecurity experts say the scheme is part of a growing trend that exploits local long-distance drivers. - ➤ Jill Benson, Sheridan artist Joel Ostlind and Buffalo-based artist Lisa Norman appeared on Public Pulse to discuss a new 10 ft.—by—66 ft. art installation set to be placed on the Woolworth Building. The work—financed by Security State Bank and managed by a committee led by Paul Del Rossi—will be unveiled at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18. Sheridan Media
- ➤ A large crowd joined museum staff, board, and volunteers at the preview of the Museum at the Bighorns Phase 1 relocation project held on Tuesday, June 10 (in the historic former Woolworth’s building) before the museum opens to the public today. - ➤ At the June 9 meeting, school board members reviewed the Fifth Street Greenhouse update with new grants for produce and student involvement—officials also discussed a concealed carry policy, which they approved by an 8—1 vote and will reconvene on July 14 at 6 p.m. City of Sheridan

- ➤ Today, WYDOT reported that paving for the curb and gutter at the Main Street–Fort Street intersection will begin this week after turning off the signal and installing three-way stop signs—motorists should expect lane closures and flagging operations for several weeks. Utility work continues from Fort Street to Snyder Street, and projects to install a box culvert and a new storm drain pipe on South Main Street will occur soon. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Wyoming Highway Patrol Captain Erik Jorgensen urged local drivers to look twice before merging, accelerating or turning so that motorcycles are not at risk - noting that 6,335 motorcyclist deaths and 82,564 injuries were recorded in 2023. He recommended a two-second following gap or three to four seconds in bad weather and stressed that helmets, though not required for riders over 18, remain strongly advised. Sheridan Media
