A Sheridan man, James 'Bo' Galloway, went missing on May 5 after being last seen on April 30 and the sheriff’s office conducted a two-day search this past weekend using five K‐9 teams—covering 600 acres between his home on Westview Drive and the airport—after multiple reported sightings while his family remains worried.

Former Sheridan DJ Dennis Switzer—a Sheridan High School grad who bought KKTY radio in 1995 and worked at several stations including KROE—was inducted into the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Wyoming Game and Fish says entries for the Wyoming Wildlife magazine Calendar Photo Contest close June 16 — photographers may submit up to 10 wildlife photos taken in Wyoming, including images from Grand Teton and Yellowstone, for a chance to win $100 and have their work featured in the calendar printed in November.

Today, Sheridan County commissioners drafted a letter to express support for a FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant application to map coal seam fires in the county.

They said the project is critical for public safety—since the fires threaten the economy and environment among Sheridan, Johnson, and Campbell counties—and the commission has committed up to $80,000 as a cash match.

Sheridan County Commissioners recognized three county employees for their years of service today.

Commission Chair Lonnie Wright announced that Kellie Kinert completed 10 years at the sheriff's office while James Schlegel and Lorraine Lehman each marked 5 years at the county Building and Maintenance and assessor's offices (the honors reflect dedicated county service).

Wyoming Highway Patrol Captain Erik Jorgensen told Sheridan Media on Public Pulse that the paved roads in the Bighorn Mountains are clear but users should allow extra travel time as campers and large trucks slow travel on steep grades.

He added that residents must check dirt and side roads for dryness—this caution aims to prevent road damage and safety hazards.
