COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Sheridan Community Land Trust will host the free SCLT Backyard BBQ presented by Eliason Financial and First Federal Bank and Trust at the SCLT Big Goose Natural Area, offering Legerski’s meats with vegetarian options, live music from Tris Munsick, local history trails, lawn games, face painting and beverages. The event features a matched raffle—every $1 spent gives $2 to support the SCLT with prizes including a condo stay, a scenic discovery flight, a children’s mountain bike, a drawing and a painting.  Sheridan Media
  • Downtown Sheridan Association executive director Zoila Perry and 3rd Thursday Committee Chair Kat Deeds alerted vendors that few registration spots remain for the upcoming street festival, which will stay in its traditional location — local band The Two Tracks will open the event — and it will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on June 19.  Sheridan Media

  • Sheridan Media won 13 awards at the 2025 Wyoming Association of Broadcasters Convention in Cody (6 first place and 7 second place honors) and was named the Wyoming Station of the Year. The station placed in 11 of 17 large market radio categories with wins including Best Radio Show and Best Station Promo.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce officials have invited local business owners and frontline employees to a free training session on selling the region—set for Monday, June 23 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Best Western Sheridan Center—with registration due by Friday, June 20.  Sheridan Media
  • On June 6, the Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Midway Auto and RV—Sheridan with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting. The dealership, managed by co-owners Keith and Chris Grant and general manager Shaun Houthoofd, offered pre-owned vehicles and RV service at 1812 Coffeen Avenue and will soon add boat repairs.  Sheridan Media

CRIME NEWS

  • On May 5, James “Bo” Galloway, a Sheridan resident, was reported missing after his family lost contact, and investigators with the sheriff’s office and state agents conducted a grid search of a 600-acre area near the airport using five K-9 teams and search and rescue groups—though no evidence shows he is deceased—as the investigation remains active with further search efforts planned.  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • WYDOT warned residents Monday about text scams that imitated WYDOT and threatened immediate loss of driver privileges if unpaid citations or toll bills were not settled. The department advised people to call to verify messages and to change passwords and contact banks if they clicked on any links.  Sheridan Media
  • During a Monday night study session, Sheridan City Council discussed the 2026 fiscal budget, which proposes spending just under $140.4 million — council members debated balancing essential services and amenities. The Council will consider a resolution to adopt the budget at its regular meeting on Monday, June 16.  Sheridan Media
