Local organizations in Sheridan are rallying for an annual flag placement effort to honor fallen veterans, led by Veterans Affairs Health Care System’s Kristina — a longstanding tradition that unites community members.

Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 5 (at Scott Bicentennial Park in Dayton) to help remove nearly one mile of old barbed wire fence along the Freezeout Stock Driveway northwest of Dayton; work may continue on Saturday, June 6 if needed.

The Sheridan Recreation District is hosting the grand opening of the newly renovated Kendrick Pool on Sunday, June 7 from noon to 7 p.m. and the free event will feature raffles, giveaways, and a sensory tent (hosted by REACH) sponsored by Bluepeak.
