  • Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter shows an upturn in pet adoptions after a decline in 2024. Dog Lead Liz Lande said the new one-week adoption process with two meet & greets has lowered the number of animals returned to the shelter.  Sheridan Media
  • Mark Caudle and Sue Shrum appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to invite residents to the 2025 Story Wide Yard Sale on June 1. The event will feature a Biscuits and Gravy Fundraiser at 7 a.m.—which helps fund the Story Women’s Club—and a Firefighters Fundraiser at 11 a.m. to support the Story Fire Station's operating costs.  Sheridan Media
  • William Kimbrough “Kim” Love passed away Saturday, May 24 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, leaving a lasting legacy in broadcasting and community service — he co-owned KROE radio and built Sheridan Media — his memorial service will be held Friday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with a reception at Frackleton’s Restaurant from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Sheridan Media

CRIME NEWS

  • Sheridan police are asking for help finding James Bo Galloway, 53, who was last seen on April 30 and reported missing May 5—police found his broken cellphone, an empty nylon tent bag and backpacks of river rocks near his rental behind Westview Health Care Center along Big Goose creek, and his daughter said he missed her graduation and left his dogs unfed, which is not like him.  Cowboy State Daily

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Craft Brothers will return to WYO Theater for their 30th Anniversary show to honor three decades of music in Sheridan. The performance will have two showings—one at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 and another at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, with tickets costing $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and military members, and $20 for students.  Sheridan Media

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Sheridan County’s unemployment rate dropped from 3.7% in March to 2.9% in April—Johnson County’s rate decreased from 3.1% to 2.2%, marking the lowest statewide compared with 2.8% last April.  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A new law will let property owners ask police to remove illegal residents immediately—starting July 1. Local officials and law enforcement say the measure was refined through public comment to ensure due process while preventing squatter scams.  Casper Star-Tribune
