- ➤ The Eaton’s Guest Ranch horses arrived at Leiter on Friday, May 23 for the first leg of their three-day drive from Eaton’s Bar 11 Ranch near Echeta to the home ranch near Wolf with a night at the Leiter cabins. They left Leiter at 7 a.m. and will pass through Sheridan up Fifth Street today—continuing their annual Memorial Day tradition. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Kim Love—founder of Sheridan Media and a dedicated local philanthropist—died Saturday, May 24 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He built a lasting legacy in local broadcasting and community projects, including launching Dining for a Cause to support local nonprofits. Sheridan Media
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On May 19, 1846, President Polk approved an act to set up military posts to protect Oregon Trail travelers. Although the trail does not pass through Sheridan, it shaped Wyoming’s history—running from Fort Laramie to Fort Bridger and leading to the establishment of Fort Phil Kearny in 1866. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Facilities Director John Zink updated the Johnson County School Board on school building projects this summer at Buffalo High School and on the Kaycee HVAC upgrade — boilers are set for delivery at the end of June with work scheduled for July while bidding for the HVAC project will start in January. Zink noted that $3,500,000 of the $4,473,673 allocated will cover construction costs. City of Sheridan
