- ➤ The Johnson County School Board honored local Special Olympian Carson McGee with an award at a recent Special Olympics event—Kelsey Moore introduced him, explained the award, and thanked the board for its financial support that lets local athletes compete when many districts no longer back the program. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Forest Service announced earlier this month that Crazy Woman Canyon on Forest System Rd. 33 will not open this season because a bridge is being replaced — the work is in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration and Johnson County. - ➤ Sheridan City Councilman Andrew Patceg and Public Works Director Hanns Mercer said the roto mill and overlay project will start early this summer after the Capital Improvement Program finished replacing the North Heights water main. The work aims to fix long-term pipe deterioration from acidic soils—crews will complete Phase 2 quickly for affected residents. Sheridan Media
- ➤ After a presentation by Human Resources Director Heather Doke, the Sheridan City Council unanimously approved a one-year contract with International Association of Fire Fighters Local #276.
