  • Volunteers put stakes and American flags on veterans' graves at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery Saturday, placing 2,416 flags with Boy Scout Troop 117 marking its fourth year (serving the Elk section).  City of Sheridan
  • The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce’s new Tongue River Valley Business Committee will host an open house May 26, 8-9 a.m. at the Ranchester Natural History Museum of Wyoming to boost local business connections.  The Sheridan Press
  • Last Saturday, the first Sheridan Sundown car show drew car lovers at Ice Haus Eatery as Car Quest hosted vintage and modern cars — entertainer Rhyder Scott played tunes while Tim Letran promised more monthly events this summer.  Sheridan Media
  • The Chamber welcomed Big Horn Woman’s Club Friday, May 15 with a ribbon cutting at its log-cabin clubhouse at 314 S. Second St. in Big Horn — the venue holds about 200 community events a year serving 3,500 people with club president Alice Baker leading the ceremony.  Sheridan Media

  • The Echoes of Ornamentation program at the Brinton Museum featured leather carving & Baroque music on May 13, where local artist Jim Jackson and Dr. Mark Elliot Bergman led a discussion on traditional art styles, drawing a large local crowd.  City of Sheridan

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Arvada-Clearmont High School celebrated 11 graduates (100% success rate) on May 17 as Salutatorian Chloe Mauck and Valedictorian Bronc Vineyard shared advice during a ceremony filled with confetti and caps, marking the start of their next chapter.  Sheridan Media
  • Thirteen Valor Academy students celebrated their first-ever graduation ceremony at Bethesda Worship Center on Sunday. Student speakers Ian Gale and Cooper Davies and commencement speaker Jerry Sommer urged the graduates to reflect on others, be optimistic, and help as they move forward.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan College plus local partners including Sheridan Memorial Hospital have created career pathways that align K-12, college, and workforce training by offering hands-on experiences like internships and job shadowing for students in healthcare and other sectors, with plans to expand soon.  Sheridan Media

  • Wyoming Game and Fish Department advises locals to leave baby birds in place since parents are usually nearby feeding them. If you find a young animal at home, return it to the exact spot it was found or call the Sheridan Regional Office (307) 777-4600.  Sheridan Media

  • The City of Sheridan is hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. (in Council Chambers at City Hall) to gather community feedback on a conceptual design to refresh Sheltered Acres Park.  Sheridan Media

  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital will move its transitional care unit to the Sheridan Green House campus in early June, ensuring patients receive the same skilled transitional care services.  The Sheridan Press
