COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Residents will join an 'Eyes Up: Lives Ahead!' two-mile community walk at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30 at the Historic Sheridan Inn (registration appreciated) to improve pedestrian awareness. Inspired by public speaker Kate Gladdin following her mother's death on Main Street, the event encourages safer habits for drivers and walkers.  City of Sheridan
  • Residents may fish without a license on Wyoming Free Fishing Day on Saturday, June 6 in local waters. The free event encourages anglers statewide to enjoy Wyoming’s high-quality fisheries.  The Sheridan Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Ucross invites community members to join its fifth annual Founder’s Day event at its 20,000-acre ranch with artist studio tours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and an art gallery exhibition unveiling at 1 p.m.—guests can also enjoy homemade pizza from the café food truck with free registration.  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Wyoming Department of Transportation District 4 Burgess Junction crew will partially open the east side of U.S. 14A to traffic today by noon after clearing winter snow. Motorists must follow restrictions between Mile Marker 98 (Bear Lodge) and Mile Marker 80 (Bald Mountain Overlook) until the road fully opens on May 22.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan County Commissioners recognized Airport Manager Robert Gill (15 years of service) during their last meeting and awarded him a Certificate of Appreciation and Chamber Bucks. They also announced three $1,000 Commissioners’ Scholarships for high school graduates to use at the University of Wyoming or a community college.  Sheridan Media

  • NPC Cloud Peak Classic returns for its 5th year at the WYO Theater, where athletes compete in bodybuilding and deadlift events beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 16.
