COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Downtown Sheridan Association’s Executive Director Zoila Perry and Marketing and Events Coordinator Charlie Ringley appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss the Main Street America Survey, which collected 308 local responses. Perry said the final report (expected later in summer) may guide new projects (including consumer- and product-based strategies) to improve downtown.  Sheridan Media
  • Today, the Sheridan County Chamber announced the theme '30 Years of Strolling' for the 30th Annual Sheridan Christmas Stroll on Public Pulse. The Chamber invites students in grades 1 through 6 to submit their button designs by June 6 at the Chamber Office on 54 S. Main St. or at Kid Curious on 129 N. Main St.—the winning design will receive a framed design, placement on the buttons, and $100 in Chamber Bucks.  Sheridan Media

  • The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Anova Med Spa with a ribbon cutting on May 9. The holistic wellness practice is located at 1415 N. Main St. and is owned by Cheyloh Bluemel and Beck Bridger Dahmke.  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • Expressions Art Gallery and Framing will host Brushstrokes Through Time, an art show featuring work by six local artists that displays both older and newer art. An artist reception will be held Friday, May 16 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. — the gallery is free to visit Monday through Thursday 10 to 5, Friday 10 to 4, and Saturday 10 to 3 while the show runs until June 6.  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan County commissioners appointed county engineer Ken Muller as viewer for the proposed vacation of a property in the Downer Addition. The parcel runs along 14th Street between Highland Avenue and Holmes Avenue — petitioned by residents Kara Torres, Randy Herman, Lourdes Weikel, Kelley Olson and Crystal Herman — and will be reviewed further.  City of Sheridan
  • The Wyoming Game and Fish Department Sheridan Regional Office announced two public meetings on May 19 for proposed changes to fishing, watercraft and licensing regulations—one virtual meeting at 3 p.m. for chapters 22 and 46 and one in-person meeting at 5 p.m. for chapters 42, 44 and 47, with written comments accepted through June 10.  Sheridan Media

  • Sheridan County Weed and Pest District will join Tick Blitz 2025 on May 16 and 17 to collect ticks for testing diseases such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Colorado Tick Fever, and Tularemia using a statewide citizen science program (307) 672-3740 for more information.  Sheridan Media
